Managing Director
Desire is a Certified Technical Financial Accountant and has worked in that industry for 30 years, she changed course in 2014 and trained as a blaster both for civils and quarrying and is qualified in both fields.
Born in Cape Town, educated in Swaziland, attended St Marks High;
Swaziland College of Technology – bookkeeping
ICBA (Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and Accountants): Certified Technical Financial Accountant
University of Natal: Diploma in Business Management; Business information systems
Varsity College Durban: Microsoft A+ course : Qualification: Computer technician
In Swaziland worked for the Ministry of Education on a UNESCO/SIDA/WORLD BANK funded project to build primary schools throughout Swaziland – 1977 to 1983
Prior to establishing Laduma Blasting, Desire had a 5-year contract on the Ingula Pumped Storage Scheme (Ladysmith) for BCJV – tender awarded by Eskom as the SMEand BWO (Black woman’s Organisation). She also worked for and later a director of another blasting business blasting in civils.

Raised in KZN, matriculated at Treverton College in Mooi River, attended UKZN business school for a year; studied at UKZN towards B.Comm
Was over in the UK working in accounts before buying into a well known Franchise and worked for himself for 9 years. Later returned back to South Africa and worked for Precision Blasting in Durban before starting up Laduma Blasting. A hands-on the job person: he leads the blasting teams for all the blasting work. He holds a Civils Blasting ticket as well as opencast / quarry mining ticket.

Henry has worked in the quarry blasting industry for over 45 years, he consults for various quarries.
Henry joined Laduma Blasting 18 months ago as our blasting advisor as well as mentor.
